On the Move

Yay I can crawl - I still need to work a bit on my technique as I get one leg caught up and end up dragging it along but I can move. Plus I can also pull myself up on things and walk along them - ah the mischief I'm going to get up to.

Sometimes however I like to use other modes of transportation - like Daddy Transport!

I've been very snuggly since I've been sick so this can be a good way to snuggle my Dad at the same time.

Easter

My first Easter was not so good. I woke up in a bed of vomit and proceeded to vomit all day. I didn't even get to eat any chocolate to make this all happen.

Luckily I'm still a happy little chappy so I had great fun playing with the Easter Eggs and books that I got

- although I thought I might steal Dad's Easter Egg as it was much bigger than mine.

Chores

My Mum makes me help out with all the chores around the house. I am particularly good with washing. I help Mum peg it out and bring it in, yesterday though there was so much washing it I got lost in the pile!

Luckily when Dad gets home we get to play lots of games and have snuggles which are my second favourite activity (No. 1 is talking).

Coffee Group

Last week we had coffee group at my house. There's not too many of my friends who can come at the moment because their mum's have gone back to work.

My Mum's work have decided they don't want her back part time so she is going to have to find a new job. In the meantime it means I get to keep her all to myself for a bit longer, which I think is great.

Here is me with my friends Ethan and Amber.

Teeth

I have two teeth now so I have to take good care of them.

I have my very own toothbrush and toothpaste and best of all when you clean them you can look in the mirror at the pretty bubba. This morning I was cleaning my teeth upstairs with Mum and I was supposed to be sitting on the bench but somehow I ended up sitting in the sink - it was really a very good size for me.
Mirrors are probably my most favourite toy at the moment, I can find my reflection everywhere - in the tv when it's off, in the window at night time and even in the tap in the bath.

See you later Aunty Kathryn

Yesterday my Aunty Kathryn left to go back to stinky old London.

Before she left, we had a little bit of a party at our house for her.

Grandad was trying to teach me about crawling as I can only manage going backwards or round in circles.
Then I had some last games with Aunty Kathryn.

Come home soon Aunty Kathryn.

Cooper's Birthday

Wow I can't believe it my cousin Cooper is one year old.

We went to his party and I said Happy Birthday to him while he was enjoying the party food.
Mum says it won't be long until I have a party for my first birthday - that sounds like heaps of fun.

Adventures with Aunty Kathryn

My Aunty Kathryn and I are very trendy girls. We wear our cool hats and go out on adventures together.

We went to a country market and Mum bought me this cool cardi - in fact whenever we went out with Aunty Kathryn my Mum ended up buying me things.
Maybe my Aunty Kathryn should forget about London and come back to live here so we can have more adventures.

My trip to New Plymouth

While my Aunty Kathryn was here we went on a road trip to New Plymouth with Granny & Grandad.

I saw Gwen again.
And I got to meet some more of my relatives....
Megan, Great Uncle Tim, Great Aunty Kathleen, Louise

My Great Aunty Jo

and Great Uncle Murray.

We also went to visit another bubba - my Mum used to go to school with her Mum, and my Granny used to go to school with her Granny.

Current Events

Grandad and I have been having a busy time helping my Aunty Kathryn organise her wedding so yesterday we had to take a wee break to read the newspaper.

I helped Aunty Kathryn go wedding dress shopping. It was lots of fun as we were in a room full of mirrors so that I could look at how pretty I was (Aunty Kathryn didn't look too bad either in her pretty dresses).

Yesterday Mum and I went to spend the day at Granny & Grandad's and helped Aunty Kathryn with some more planning. I had a great day and started saying "Mum Mum Mum" and I nearly drank a whole bottle - Yay!

Monkey Girl

My Daddy calls me a monkey girl because I like to play with my toys with both my feet and hands. In fact I've been having bottles lately and I like to hold those with my feet too.

Mum thought I was taking it to extremes though when I tried to put my feet up on the highchair at lunchtime!

Busy Busy Times

My Aunty Kathryn and Uncle Matt are out visiting from the UK and we are having very busy times because they recently got engaged and have to plan their wedding while they are here.

Aunty Kathryn came to visit me when she first arrived in the country...
and then we had an engagement party for her, which gave Cooper and I a chance to keep her busy...
then as a special treat, my Great Aunty B stopped off to visit us before she headed to the UK so we had another party with my cousins.

But we still have time to go on picnics just me, Mum and Dad - I'm not sure about this feeding the ducks thing though - I don't see why they should get the bread when I can eat it, especially as I've just cut my first tooth!

8 months old today

Yay I am 8 months old today - where has the time gone.

I like to read the newspaper just like my Mum, although sometimes it's more fun to play peek-a-boo with it.
I've also been enjoying the sunny weather going for walks with my Mum and Dad. I have my own sun hat, but sometimes its funny to borrow Daddy's one.
Tomorrow my Aunty Kathryn arrives all the way from London. Mum says she's going to be very tired by the time she gets to Hamilton but I know she'll want to come and visit me anyway so we can giggle together.
I'm sure we're going to get up to so much fun and games while she's here that she won't want to go back to stinky old London.

Girls Day Out

Yesterday we had our house sprayed to keep the nasty flies away so Mummy and me went to spend the day at Granny & Grandad's house.

Grandad was keeping busy working at my cousin's house, so Mummy, Granny and I went out shopping and for my first lunch out.
It was very exciting for me, I had some blueberry muffin and a drink from my cup - although for some reason my Mum didn't find it that relaxing with my squirming.

My first trip to the beach

On Waitangi Day Mum, Dad and I went to Raglan so that I could experience the beach.
I thought the water was pretty cold and wasn't so keen on having a paddle and the sand blew in my eyes, but I did like the picnic we had. Especially when Mum and Dad ate their lunch out of paper - that was lots of fun trying to steal it.

My amazing new skills

I am such a clever girl and I can do so many new things.

I have got really good at rolling because I practise it in bed - this is where Mum found me one day when I was supposed to be sleeping!
I can also say two words - Daddy and Chess (our cat), Mum feels a bit left out that even the cat comes above her but I do love him, I just wish he would sit a little bit closer so that I could give him a snuggle.

My new swimming pool

My Aunty and Uncles overseas bought me a swimming pool for Christmas. It's really cool because it's big enough for me and Mummy & Daddy to get in.

It was very hot yesterday so after we had been out for a walk, we all jumped in.

I'll be able to practise all my new tricks that I learn at swimming this term.

Thanks Uncle Geoff, Uncle Ali, Aunty Kathryn and Uncle Matt for my cool pool.

New Tricks

I turned 7 months old this week and to mark the occasion I have been learning lots of new tricks.

I can now do a full 360° roll - whereas before I could only roll from my tummy to my back. My favourite time to practise rolling is when Mum is trying to feed me or change my nappy. I've also started pushing off mum when I'm on my tummy to get a bit of forward movement to get the toys I want - usually the tv remote.

I've watched my cousin Cooper too, and learnt that standing on your legs is lots of fun, so I like to try and pull myself up, especially in the bath - although Mum is a meany and won't let me play with the toys while I'm standing.

My Mum and Grandad were busy last week rennovating our lounge, I saw them using this cool stool to get to the high places, so I thought I would have a go too.

More Visitors

My Great Uncle Gerry and Great Aunty Sue came to vist me and my cousins in Hamilton.

My cousins have a cool new tower with a slide and everything, so we took them outside to play and Jack, Cooper and me had turns going down the slide. I'm not quite as quick as my cousins, but I'm learning fast.

Jack's Birthday Party

I am such a social butterfly, I had yet another party to attend last weekend. This time for my big cousin Jack's 3rd birthday.

I love to watch big kids, I think they're very funny so I had a great time - here's me in my party hat.

Once upon a time my Great Grandmother Isobel had a turtle which my Mum used to play on. It was a little bit worse for wear but my clever Aunty Leah made a pattern from it and made a whole new turtle. Isn't he just the best - Jack say's his name is Zippy.
