spin

One of Alex's favourite things in the world is to make himself sick by spinning in a circle until he falls down!

Hansel and Gretal

Last weekend we went on an outing to Granny and Grandad's to see a show - all our cousins came too.

It was lots of fun at the show

and then Lavinia taught Alex some new tricks on the slide at the park.

Thanks Granny and Grandad for another fun day out.

Our new baby

Now that we don't have a baby for our cot, someone else has decided they quite like the protection it offers!

The latest boy's outing

This week we went for a walk to a new park and had a picnic togtether.  Alex is learning that Luke and James are his special friends and the mum's enjoy a good catch up too!

A trip to the park

Our big boy

Alex has finally had a really big boy haircut. He sat very still and was rewarded with his favourite treat, a lollipop.

His mummy is feeling a bit sad that her big boy is all grown up as he is sleeping in his big boy bed tonight too.

Our reading girl

Mackenzie is very proud of her increasing reading ability.

School is a huge hit, as a little social butterfly she seems to be friends with half the school and is even enthusiastically getting her Mum and brother out training ready for her cross country.

Mum and Mackenzie's afternoon of fun

Mum and Mackenzie spent a Saturday afternoon whipping up a couple of dancing skirts and then using the remains to create lots of different barbie dresses.

Boy's playgroup

Alex and a couple of friends have started to get together each week now that their big sisters have gone to school.

They've had lots of fun, riding on tractors, playing with dogs - lots of good boy stuff!

School holiday fun

We had lots of fun in the school holidays and really enjoyed not having to rush anywhere in the mornings.

We caught up with friends...

Helped Daddy build a cabinet for his new tv...

Went on a trip to Auckland for ice skating, to visit the museum and to have dinner with Uncle Ali and Leeann
.

Lucky school is so much fun or being back wouldn't be great.

Was it cold today???

You'd never guess it if you saw two young ladies running around half naked in the mud.
We enjoyed some lovely sunshine at a friend's house in the country, playing in the mud, learning to drink from a tap and taking the dogs for a walk.
It did get colder later, but by that time we were all snuggled up at home.

More driving

Alex's favourite passtime is still driving the car. He knows how to find the right key and put it in the ignition and he's now decided the glasses are an essential part of driving the car because that's what mummy does.

Pet show

We went to the pet show in the weekend. There were lots of animals, baby goats, pigs and sheep to pat and lots and lots of dogs.

However the highlight was ha
ving a horse ride. Alex was adament he wasn't missing out and had to have a turn too.

Pet shop

Alex and Mummy went on a trip to the pet shop with Porse, Granny and Lavinia and Kathryn and Bella came too. We got to pat puppy dogs, kittens, guinea pigs,

although Alex's favourite part was hiding in the cages and being the dog.

Daddy's birthday

Daddy's birthday didn't quite go as plan. With a house load of sick people, including the nanny being off sick Daddy ended up with takeaways for dinner and he didn't even get to go out in the weekend as Alex's ear infection flared up again. Oh well at least there was cake with lollies.

Sick kids

Like everyone else we've had a lot of bugs so the kids had some extra time together at the end of term.

Making a train.

Alex's birthday

For Alex's birthday, he got to open presents early in the morning...

Had a special music class where he got to choose all Wiggles songs. Then came home for morning tea with Lavinia, Granny, Bridget and Mummy.

Then Lavinia and Alex whipped up a special morning tea for Tom.At two Alex is talking in short sentences and has suddenly developed quite an independent streak - "I do it" and "mine" are favourite sayings. He has only just mastered saying his own name, and loves to make everyone sit in a circle patting their knees like at music, saying "my name is Alex, and that's my name". He hasen't mastered his sister's name, she is still 'ken' but I love her very much. She comes home from school and Alex says "Hi Ken" and gives her a hug. Alex is a lovely happy boy who sleeps now. The only food he can't eat is dairy products although for some reason he loves to get the milk out of the fridge. His favourite things in the world are teddy, Mackenzie and animals particularly dogs.

Mackenzie's party with her friends

On Saturday 25 June, Mackenzie had her birthday party with her friends.

It was a pool party, with a very special Rapunzel cake.

Happy school days

Thursday 23 June 2011 saw Mackenzie off for her first day at St Jospeh's Fairfield. She was super excited.

Her teacher, Mrs Mace, says she's fitting in well and is doing great. Mackenzie and Mummy are still finding their feet about how things work at school but Mackenzie is loving bringing home reading books and proudly reading stories to anyone who will listen.
