The bike-a-thon

Today was bike-a-thon day at Kindy. It was lots of fun. I especially liked riding my bike with my friend Sophie from down the road.
Alex got to have a play at kindy too - he loved the slide.

Ballet

Now I'm a big girl I can go to ballet.

Every Thursday my friend Eve comes round to my house and we go to ballet - it's sooo much fun!

Bike riders

We love bikes in our family. Since starting Kindy Mackenzie has become an expert biker and bikes all the way to Kindy (1.2km) nearly every day. If anyone would like to sponsor her for her Kindy bikeathon, all donations are greatly appreciated.
Now Alex is wanting to get in on the action too. We pulled Mackenzie's old bike out of the garage and he thinks he's sooo cool sitting on it himself and beeping the horn.

Alex 7 months old

Hi - it's me Alex. I'm now 7 months old.

This is me with the truck Granny and Grandad bought me to celebrate.
Mum got me immunised as her present to me - not so much fun but they did weigh me and I'm a whopping 9.4kg naked. My sister weighed about that at 15 months old!

I've also learnt a new trick to celebrate - I can clap!

The family

More kindy fun

I love kindy, I keep asking Mum when I get to go again - a big change from daycare.

Here is me and my friend Sophie doing all sorts of tricks. Sophie is very clever at climbing things and shows me how to do lots of cool new tricks.

Kindy

Last year we decided daycare wasn't really working out for me so we decided I'd go to kindy instead.

I go three afternoons a week and I've already made heaps of new friends and don't give mum a backwards glance when she says she's off.

This is me with my new friend Sophie dressed up as fairies - we even live on the same street!

Look at me I'm Wendy!

I've been desperately searching for a long sleeve white nightie so that I could dress up as Wendy since December. We haven't had any luck so somehow I managed to con my crazy mum into making one for me!

The obsession continues

Mum and Dad took us for a trip to Auckland to see crocodiles just like the one in Peter Pan. They were at a place called Butterfly Creek. It was heaps of fun we had lunch, saw butterflies, lizards, spiders, farm animals, a playground, had a ride on a train - which as you can see I was a bit nervous about.

Saw a huge crocodile called Scar (and one called Goldie)

and even discovered Captain Hook on the way out!

Caravan holiday

We convinced Dad to go on a caravan holiday to Raglan. It was lots of fun and I really didn't want to come home.

I had a special bed in the caravan next to Alex so I couldn't complain I was lonely and Mum got me a special princess torch for camping.

There was lots to do at the camp with playgrounds

and cool bikes.

We flew kites,

built pools at the beach for Alex and had friends to visit for fish and chips. A fabulous holiday - now we just have to get Daddy booked in again for next year!

Holiday Fun

Just some of the photos from our activities over the holidays....

Late night stories with Grandad waiting for it to get dark so we could visit the Christmas lights..
Teaching Alex to brush his new tooth..Gwen's 88th birthday - any excuse for cake!Cleared the section with Grandad and DadThe kids looking beautiful
.

New Year's Eve

Me and my friends Jamie and Kyle got our parents together so that we could party party party on New Year's Eve - we even stayed up until 10 o-clock!

Christmas

We must have been very good kids because we were very spoilt by Santa. He left us Christmas stockings full of presents and we were extra lucky because Uncle Ali had stayed the night with us and Granny and Grandad got up even earlier than us so that they could come in and see us open our presents.
Mackenzie was then very helpful at opening any presents that anyone needed assistance with!
In the afternoon it was off to Granny and Grandad's for dinner. Mackenzie had lots of fun playing with her cousins however whoever said all they wanted for Christmas was their two front teeth hadn't got any recently as Alex was miserable cutting his first tooth so we headed home pretty early. Thanks everyone for our lovely presents.

Aren't I a clever boy!

Look at me I can sit. Its sooo funny. Mind you I think most things are very funny especially my big sister and my Dad.

Dad is convinced I'm also saying "dad dad dad" but Mum refuses to believe it as she spends hours trying to teach me "mum mum mum".

My friend Eve

Eve is my bestest friend. We've been going to the same daycare since we started and now we like to have play dates at each other's house.

When she came on Saturday we even had a swim in my pool - fun!

Peter Pan

After going to the ballet I am soooo into Peter Pan.

Mum has had to read the book five million six hundred and seventy seven times and now I like to make Mum and Dad play Peter Pan with me.

This is me being Wendy all tied up then Peter Pan has to come and save me.

I love my teddy

My big sister has a very special teddy and when I was born she bought me one too.

Yesterday when Mum and Mackenzie snuck in to wake me up they found me cuddling mine for the first time.

Alex - food glorious food

So after being a champion sleeper at night I started waking mum up twice a night starving so she decided it was time for me to start some real food.

So far I think its pretty cool - I espcially like the fact that I get to join in meal times with my big sister - now if only she'll share those chips with me I'd be really happy!

The ballet

Mum, Granny and I went on a very exciting outing to the ballet.

It was very late at night so I had to have a wee nap in the afternoon.

We got all dressed up in our best clothes.

Although Mum had prepared me for the story of the ballet she'd forgotten to mention there would be so many people watching the ballet with us so I was a bit surprised but I loved it, even though Captain Hook was a bit scary.

Two weeks later I'm still making mum read chapters from the book and asking non-stop questions.

Our trip to Invercargill

We had a lovely trip to Invercargill.
We had an early Christmas with our friends...

Played so many games....

Went on adventures to the river...
Tried food for the first time...

Celebrated Aunty Louby's birthday (with a forest of candles)

and had a lovely holiday. We were very sad to head home but pleased to see Daddy again.
Thanks Aunty Louby, Uncle Stu, Kate, Sam and Lachie.
