Growing up fast

This is me and my little brother holding hands - I also like to smother him in kisses.

You may also notice that I'm wearing all pink. Pink is my favourite colour at the moment in fact nearly every morning I tell Mum "I think I'll wear all pink today". In fact Mum gets very little say in what I wear at all these days unless she absolutely insists for things like flash photos or demands that my favourite skirt goes in the wash which requires quite a bit of convincing.

Alex is growing fast and is nearly out of his new born clothes. He went to the specialist for a check up last night as he seems to have a bit of reflux - turns out he has a very big head (no wonder he got stuck!) and is pretty long too. He now weights 4.7kg or 10lb 6oz and is a very healthy boy - he's even given his Mum his first smile.

I'm a big sister!

I'm loving being a big sister. I get more confident everyday.

Yesterday I held my little brother all by myself for the first time.

Daddy's birthday

For Daddy's birthday we went and had a wee party at Granny and Grandad's.

I helped Aunty Kathryn decorate a cake for Dad

6 days old

I'm now 6 days old and had my one week check up a little early.

I've already put on weight, I now weigh 8lb 3oz (3.7Kg) and I'm working on increasing my sleeping times. I'm a pretty easy going fellow so far, I just sleep, eat and poo.

Visitors

Mum and I have had lots of visitors while we've been in hospital. Thanks everyone for visiting and for the lovely presents.

Introducing Alexander Fraser Johnston

Hi I'm Alex.
I arrived on Sunday 28 June at a very respectable 7lb 12oz. (3.54Kg)
I'm a long and lean fellow but I do have a big head which got a bit stuck on the way out.
Anyway I'm here now and I'm enjoying meeting my new family, especially my big sister Mackenzie.

The big 3 year old!

Today is my birthday. I've had a great day.

I decided to take the day off daycare to spend some time with my mum.

I got a box of dress ups from Mum and Dad which I had great fun playing with. I dressed as a fairy dancing girl for most of the day.
We met Granny and Dad at Old McDonalds (McDonalds) for lunch and a play at the playground - where I decided to be a fairy dancing girl/pussy cat.
Then after dinner, Mum, Dad and I went out for ice cream.

Thank goodness its not all over yet as I'm going to take cake to celebrate with my day care friends tomorrow.

My birthday party

On Saturday I had my birthday party.

It was so much fun. I dressed up as a fairy because the fairies are my favourite at the moment - I like to be the pink one, Rhapsody.

We decorated fairy cakes and played games...
and I got lots of cool presents, thanks for spoiling me everyone.

Our new baby!

Is a bit bigger than we expected!!!

Sorry no actual news, just a big girl who is enjoying playing with all the baby's things and says "Mum we've got all the toys for the baby just no baby!"

Nannie and Grandad Johnston

My Nannie and Grandad Johnston came to visit on their way to their holiday (and home again).

I took them down the road to the park for some fun and games!

Grandad's Birthday

I made my Grandad Mac a birthday cake for his birthday. Mum was a bit distracted when we were decorating it and somehow every jelly bean we had ended up on top of the cake.

Fairy Ballet

This is me doing my fairy ballet - somehow Mum has missed recording the sound on her new camera but I hope you like my dancing anyway!

Holiday in Taranaki

Aunty Louby was up in Taranaki for a wee holiday so we took a road trip to visit.

I loved catching up with my friends Sam and Kate and meeting baby Lachie for the first time.

I think I could be a real farmer girl (especially if Uncle Stu would bring my friends to live in the Waikato!)

I drove a tractor...

checked out the cows...

blew kisses to Sammy the sheep...

even Granny liked Sammy.

Somewhere in between we found time to have a wee party for Mum's birthday. I had been quite sick but I managed to find room for lollies and cake.

Granny and Grandad's 40th wedding anniversary

My Granny and Grandad have been married for 40 years.

Mum and I made a cake to celebrate and invited Uncle Tony, Aunty Leah, Jack, Cooper and Lavinia over for a wee party to celebrate.

New PJs

We went shopping today and I got new PJs and a new dressing gown - Dora ones!

Baking

I've decided I love baking cakes - mainly because I get to decorate them with lollies and chocolate drops - I find the recipe of one for me, one for the cake, works really well.

The Royal Family

I decided I'd like to be a Princess so that I could make the rules.

That made Daddy the King
and Mummy the Queen.
Now Mummy and I are having debates over whose turn it is to make the rules - I've told her she can have a turn tomorrow.

Easter

I had a fantastic Easter. It was almost better than Christmas.

In the morning Easter Bunny had brought me presents

and left me a couple of bunnies to find.

Then I went to a party at my friend Eve's house.

We had an Easter egg hunt and had lots of fun. I got more Easter Eggs than my Mum thinks she's had in her own life - shame I don't really like them.

Then just to make sure I didn't fade away we went to Granny and Grandad's house for dinner and had more Easter eggs.

Wow what a busy day - now when's the next party?

The Wiggles!

Last week Mum took a day off work so that we could go to The Wiggles. Dad got us really good seats so we could see them all really close up and Granny took lots of photos.

It was so cool. I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of people but once they came on stage I loved it. I sang along and danced along to the songs.
I was quite disappointed, there were even tears, when I couldn't go again later in the week.
