Holiday - week 2

Our second week of holiday was in Christchurch with Daddy, Granny and Grandad.

We celebrated Mum's birthday with dinner out... Went on lots of adventures with Granny and Grandad to: Science Alive - Mackenzie even got a hole in one with Grandad. The park.
The rides at the shopping centre when it got wet. We went to the Antarctic centre and experienced snow and an antarctic storm and saw penguins. Had sooo much fun at Orana Park feeding the animals and seeing them all up close. Hand feeding the giraffes was a definite highlight.

We took a ride on the tram, and fed the ducks on the avon and played in the leaves.
Thanks everyone for a fantastic adventure.

Holiday - week one

We spent the first week of our holiday in Invercargill with our lovely friends Aunty Louby, Uncle Stu, Kate, Sam and Lachie. We had so much fun visiting playgrounds, going to gym doing ballet classes learning about Thomas the tank engine.
And having soooo much fun playing together, although I think Aunty Louby thought Alex was a girl and was playing dolly dress ups with him. We can't wait to see you all again.

Grandad Johnston's birthday

Grandad Johnston and Nannie came to visit on their way to Auckland which was great because it was Grandad's birthday. We got to have cake and pressies - it was lots of fun!

Chloe's closet

Mum and Dad have got me a flash new tv channel which has a cool programme called Chloe's Closet on it where the little girl dresses up as something different everyday.

I decided I'd to the same to go and visit Aunty Kathryn. This is my fairy, princess, dancing girl outfit that I put together.

Alex at 10 months

This is the best photo mum could get of me at 10 months because I would not stay still and just kept chasing her and the camera.
To celebrate being 10 months I have a new trick. I can stand for a good couple of minutes unassisted so now I just have to put together my walking holding on with with standing and I'll be on my way!
I also like to talk, talk, talk, most of it is babble but Mum, Dad, Tom and Jump seem to feature frequently.

Mum has been trying to get me to take a bottle now we have dairy free formula but I am very stubborn (or determined as my Dad says) and I refuse to even open my mouth for it. I know what's in it and in 'aint the good stuff.

A rare photo - Mummy and Mackenzie

Granny managed to grab this snap of Mummy and Mackenzie at Bella's christening.

Alex's new friend

When we went to visit Granny, Gwen was visiting. I quickly made her my friend to and we got up to all sorts of mischief, learning to push a trolley and lots of other games.

New beds!

We got new beds. I don't know why we needed two when there's sooo much room in one bed for all of us!
Then because we had room, I was allowed to invite Eve over to stay the night. It all went well until it came to going to sleep, Eve missed her mum, and then when she went home I missed Eve so there were lots of tears all round. We'll just have to try again another weekend
.

Poor man's tv

When my big sister isn't around, I have to make do with this funny looking tv. I'm not too sure what the programme is but it's riveting.

I can walk!

Look at my new trick! I can push the trolley across the lounge all by myself.

Fairy Alex

Hi it's me Alex. I've watched my big sister lots and now I want to be a fairy too. I think it's very cool to get my sister's wand and wave it around. Plus it brings my friend Tom pussy cat closer so I can catch him!

We went to the zoo

We went to the zoo to see the new baby rhino.

Lollipops

As a special treat in the holidays I had my friend Eve over for the whole day and we got to go to Lollipops.

Holidays

It's the kindy holidays and so far they've been full of fun.

Easter Bunny came....
My friend Eve had her Easter party...
My Uncle Geoff and Uncle Ali came to visit.

We celebrated Uncle Ali's birthday a little early... Uncle Geoff spent hours playing with me. At first I was quite disappointed Aunty Alex hadn't come but Uncle Geoff proved he was pretty cool all on his own - I'm already planning what we can do on his next visit.

Our activities

Granny and Grandad went away on a big long holiday and then when they came back we had Nannie and Grandad visiting so we got extra spoilt for a whole weekend of fun.

We went to ...

The Wiggles!

I got dressed up in my pretty dress to go. Both Alex and I loved it. Alex was busy jumping on Granny's knee clapping along with the music while Mum and I danced and sang.

Mischief - who me?

Look what I found - a whole cupboard full of plastic containers. I'm sure Mum wanted me to pull them all out for her.

Tom and Alex

I love my pussy cat Tom. I get very excited whenever he enters the room and I'm determined to get to him to give him my very special snuggles.

Luckily Tom is a very patient cat and puts up with all of this even when I grab his tail when he's walking away from me.

Swimming

I love swimming. I go to a new swim school where it is soooo much fun. That's me in the purple hat. I love it so much that pretty much as soon as I've got out I'm asking Mum when it's my turn for swimming again and begging her to take me to the pool. I can't wait to show Nannie and Grandad my new skills this weekend.

Can I play too?

Hi it's me Alex. I'm loving being home figuring out all the things I can get into. I'm still not crawling too far but I do like my feet and spent a good ten minutes this morning playing on the kitchen with my sister. Time to child proof the house!

Our holiday

We had a lovely holiday at Ohope beach. We explored all the playgrounds and climbed trees - Mackenzie loved mastering all the physical challenges - her favourite saying was "I don't need you". Mackenzie and mummy even went swimming in the sea and even got an unplanned dip when a big wave came and got us when we were playing on the beach. Luckily it only washed away Mackenzie's new shoes and not us.
