Kate's visit

Mackenzie was very lucky when her friend Kate came up from Invercargill during field days for a special holiday. They had lots and lots of fun

rock climbing

going to the park

putting on dance shows every evening

meeting Kate's new cousin

and best of all making friends with the fairies and dressing up as twins

Alex was also very taken with Uncle Stu, and has been obsessed with going out in the dark since he got to go to the airport in his pyjamas to pick Uncle Stu and 'Cake' up.

Creative play

We hired a puppet theatre from the toy library. Mackenzie and her friends and a lot of fun staging performances - of course when they weren't around she had to figure out a way to play all the parts herself - those feet do come in handy!

Not to be left out, Alex staged his own show one afternoon, dressing up as a clown.

Picnic at the arboretum

We went to the Arboretum with some friends for the picnic. The kids got on brilliantly and enjoyed making up their own adventures together - now if only we can get some fine weather for another visit!

Chores

We also got a few chores done over Queen's birthday weekend - with some helpers(?)

Grandad's birthday

For Grandad's birthday we went to the miniature railway - and then on to the lake for a play and ice cream.

Alex's creative play

Is it a car, is it a spaceship - who knows when Alex is in charge....

Mum's birthday

Another year older for mum and another cake for us!
