1 Week Old

After one week I am growing fast - my wonderful midwife came to visit me yesterday and tied me up in a nappy to weigh me - just like I would have come if the stork had delivered me - Mum thinks that would have been a much better method!

I'm such a good guzzler that I've increased my weight to 7lb 12oz - none of this losing weight for me.

Plus this morning I also lost the last of my cord so my tummy button is looking all clean and lovely.

First Outing

After 6 days, Mum, Dad and I finally ventured out into the outside world.

We decided to take advantage of the wonderful sunshine we're having and go for a walk to Chartwell (the Mall for those of you not from Hamilton).

I got dressed up in my warm cosy Winnie the Pooh Outfit to go out in. I must have been looking good as I had the lady at the supermarket clucking over me.

Home Time

After enjoying the cosiness and help at Waterford it was time to head home to check out all the stuff that Mum and Dad have been buying for me over the last few months and of course to meet my pussy cat.

Plus over the last few days I've been very spoilt with lots of presents - thank you everyone. After all the boring white clothes that Mum and Dad got me, I'm now getting some colour - check out my cool pink socks!

Bathtime

While we were at Waterford, we got lots of help from the wonderful midwives so that Mum could learn to feed me properly and the best way to have a bath.

I like bath time, it's the getting out that isn't so much fun - mainly cause Mum and Dad need to get better at dressing me so I don't get cold but I'm sure if I give them time they'll master it.

Once I'm all dressed, I like to have cuddles and a chat with my Dad.

My first full day in the world

After my exhausting arrival; Mum, Dad and I relaxed at Waterford Birthing Centre for our first night together. However the next day it was hard to keep the visitors away. Here's some of the people who came to see me on my first full day in the world.

Introducing Mackenzie Isobel Johnston

Hi Everyone,

My name is Mackenzie Isobel Johnston.

Mackenzie means daughter of a wise leader.

Mum and Dad keep arguing over which one of them is the wise leader; but I've got news for them as to who is in charge around here.

My second name Isobel is after my Great Grandma who is no longer with us, but Mum assures me she was a very cool lady who I would be lucky to grow up to be like.

I was born on Thursday 22 June at 12.34pm weight 7lb, 60z.
